College football is over and the NFL is winding down, time to start looking at the hardwood. Favs Packers and Saints are no more. New England have the best track to win in Indy? Remember that old song Surfin' Bird...

College Basketball

The tide is turning. There is excitement in the stands and there is good basketball on the court. Can anyone remember years and years and years ago in the Lickliter era? Fran McCaffery has this team playing and he has enough emotion for all 15,000 in the arena.

Example last week at Michigan State

<iframe width="590" height="330" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Ao9k0vpT51E" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Saturday the Hawks knocked off No. 13 Michigan. It was the second time in five games Iowa knocked off a ranked opponent. Iowa hasn't beaten 2 ranked opponents in a season since 06-07. Look out the rest of the way. Iowa only plays Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State and Illinois once this year.

Just how bad was North Carolina's 33-pt loss to Florida State? According to ESPN it is the worst loss by a top-three school in the 15-season history of the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll.

Speaking of shockers, what the hell happened in Chicago? Northwestern knocks off No. 7 Michigan State 81-74? Is this the year the Wildcats go dancing?

And how about Kentucky? No. 2 facing Tennessee and barley escape the Volunteers 65-62. Ashley Judd must have been on pins and needles.

NFL

Patriots 45, Broncos 10 - Wow, don't pee in Tom Brady's Cheerios. Tom was supposedly peeved that the QB on the other sideline was getting all the pub. Well I am not sure he can stop the Tebow bandwagon, but Tom let his play do the talking Saturday.

Ravens 20, Texans 13 - The Texans missed a great chance to make the AFC Championship. What would this team have been like in the post season with Matt Schaub and Mario William healthy?

The Ravens feel like they are holding on by a thread. The defense is the star of the team and they are getting old. How long can this group keep it going?

49ers 36, Saints 32 -As for the NFC, defense wins championships correct? Drew Brees has garnered all the QB attention outside of the Tebow Universe, but how about Alex Smith, the forgotten man. Great game, great TD run, great new "The Catch". Pretty cool the emotion Vernon Davis showed after the catch. You could feel the hard work and time and final payoff for all of it with the grab in the
endzone.
Giants 37, Packers 20 -
Not the best time to play your worst game of the season. The Packers were rumbling, bumbling and stumbling all over themselves Sunday in Lambeau. It is pretty amazing to consider a 15-1 season a disappointment, but it is. The Giants are on a roll and playing with a ton of confidence. Can they do it again next week?

NBA

People love themselves some NBA.

Good seats are still available.

And finally...

Nature is freakin' awesome...
