NFL Playoffs are underway. Say hello to Lolo. And what happens when football and basketball come together?

Anyone else ready for this to be over? It seems like New Year's Day games were a month ago. The week delay between those games and the title game is ridiculous. I'll tune in, but really have no excitement for this game.

I really hope someone scores in double digits. I can't stand Nick Saban and really don't like Tyrann Mathieu. Don't like his stupid nickname or his swagger.

Here is what he has been preparing for the big game - he's been looking up the names of Alabama players mothers.

“You try to get the edge any way you got to,” Mathieu said. “When you are on the field you’re just having fun, you’re just talking. If you can get a player out of his zone, you win the battle. I’m not trying to be arrogant about that,” Mathieu said. “We are so good on defense, nobody wants to get in a shouting match with me.” Too late you are the definition of arrogant.

Broncos 29, Steelers 23 OT -Wow. Just wow. Tebow to Demaryius Thomas in overtime and one of the best stiff arms you'll ever see. An 80-yards= game winner. The Steelers had chances, but man this team has been nailed by the injury bug the last couple of weeks losing Rashard Mendenhall and leading tackler Ryan Clark. Sunday they had to patch things together further losing Brett Keisel, Casey Hampton and Max Starks. Denver moves on to face the Pats and Josh McDaniels.

Everyone is tired of Tebow talk. You know why? Because of this crap...



Giants 24, Falcons 2 - The Falcons made no bones about it - Super Bowl or Bust. Well it was one heck of a bust. It was questioned when it happened and looking back , is the trade up for Julio Jones one of the worst moves of the year? I am not going to get into Mike Smith coaching decisions, I am sure you can find 10-20 articles about that. The Giants running game moves them into next weeks game in Lambeau. The Giants led in the last minute of the game when they faced this year and succumbed to Aaron Rodgers. Should be a very entertaining game. Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul doesn't even think the two need to play. “We’re going to win [against the Packers],” he said, according to Giants reporter Mike Garafolo. “A hundred percent we’re going to win. … Because we’re the best.” Big mouths never get old.

Saints 45, Lions 28 -Detroit hung with the Saints for a 3 quarters, but missed opportunities are the death knell against the high powered Saints offense. Detroit is clearly making strides and should make a strong run on 2012. The Saints are on a roll and the offense is clicking.

Texans 31, Bengals 10 - The Texans won the first playoff game in franchise history and the Bengals looked like they had never been in the playoffs before this game. Cincinnati holds the current record for post season futility - 21 seasons without a playoff win.

A side note, Steeler running back coach Kirby Wilson, suffered burns over 30-50 percent in a house fire Friday. Wilson coached Troy Davis at Iowa State during the 1995-96 season. His injuries are sever, but not life-threatening. Get well and best wishes from Calling All Sports.

Des Moines' own Lolo Jones graces the cover of Outside Magazine this month. Ummmm...yeah, that is pretty good.

Ready for some spring reading? Tiger Wood's former swing coach Hank Haney has a book coming out in March - The Big Miss.

It covers Haney's time coaching Tiger from the wins to the scandal.

"I get asked all the time about Tiger, what it was like to work with him," Haney said in a telephone interview. "I felt like I had a front row seat to golf history. It just kind of chronicles a little bit of what I went through, what I dealt with, how I coached and the observations I made. I think there's a lot of things that people are going to find interesting."

The Connell High School basketball team has a couple of guys on the squad that also play on the football team. Unfortunately, they don't understand football season is over. The worst part of the video is the officials. They should have taken control of the game earlier.
